When do we enter ejections reports?
When a coach, contestant, or team personnel is asked to leave the contest because of their actions, as guided by the applicable rule book.
Who should file the ejection report?
The ejecting official should ALWAYS submit the ejection report. If they are unable, a senior official on the crew or a crew member designated by the Crew Chief should submit the report.
Who should NOT file the ejection report?
The only people who should be filing the report are the contest officials. NO ONE else should enter the report.
How is an ejection report entered?
- Go to www.piaa.org
- Click Login in the top right corner (Access code is first four letters of last name in CAPSfollowed by last four of social security number – ex. HART1234
- Under Account Tools, click Submit Disqualification Form
- Fill out all information requested. Be detailed but stick to the facts. Only entering the Rule -Section – Article is not sufficient enough
- Blocks will populate as you type (you MUST fill in player or coach’s name – Unknown is notan option)
- Schools that are from Outside PA or are not PIAA member schools should be listed as code 99,out of state
- Click SUBMIT when finished
What happens after you file a report?
After you click SUBMIT, the report goes to the PIAA Office for processing. Once it is processed, it goes to:
- Pat Gebhart for review and follow up
- PIAA District Chairman, Sport Chairman, Sportsmanship Chairman, and OfficialsRepresentatives
- Athletic Director and/or Principal
- Parents, School Board Members, & LawyersAdditional Things to Remember
- Ejections reports must be filed within 24 hours
- Be detailed but stick to the facts. Only entering the Rule – Section – Article is not sufficient.
- Do not “make stuff up”
- Do not add personal commentary
- Use the actual language that warranted the ejection
- List prior warning (techs, yellow cards, restriction to bench, etc.)
